TP Link has an outdoor camera coming

TP Link, maker of the Kasa smart home indoor
camera, has a new outdoor camera and it’s interesting because it comes with 2-days of
free cloud video storage. The Kasa Cam Outdoor costs $140, shoots 1080p
high-definition video and is IP65 weather proof for mounting just about anywhere. This is apparently video from the camera supplied
by TP Link, we don’t have one in for testing yet. It also has infrared night vision. It has a mic and speaker for two-way talk,
an 80dB siren and is powered over USB – all pretty standard stuff, but that price is good,
especially with the storage bundled in. Some of TP Link’s competitors charge a monthly
fee of a few dollars for cloud video storage, thus adding a hundred dollars or more onto
the eventual price you’ll end up paying when you buy a camera and run it for a few years. Not so with this one. As you can see, the camera is round and snaps
into a magnetic mount, those magnetic mounts are used on other cameras like the Netgear
Arlo and make positioning so easy. And it works with Google Assistant and Amazon
Alexa. We’ll have a full review here on TechHive
as soon as we get our hands on one. The indoor camera, the KC120, scored really
well in our tests getting 4.5 stars out of 5 so I’m looking forward to seeing this one. And that’s what’s coming from TP Link.
