Qolsys IQ Panel 2: Pairing S-Line Encrypted Security Sensors

Pairing sensors on the IQ Panel 2 is incredibly easy and provides intuitive options making the entire process simple and fast. The IQ panel 2 uses the 319.5 MHz frequency to connect security and life safety devices. Such as door sensors, motion sensors, glass break detectors, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, flood sensors, and more. We protect this wireless protocol with our S-Line Encryption Technology to ensure a sensor cannot be hacked by a replay attack. To pair a security sensor swipe down on your settings tray, go to Settings Advanced Settings, type in your Installer Code, go to Installation, Devices, and Security Sensors. You’ll see there are several options. The first, Auto Learn Sensor, allows you to pair a sensor without requiring the dL code printed on the box. To use the Auto Learn function, touch Auto Learn and simply open the sensor and the IQ Panel will recognize it. You can also trigger the Auto Learn process by opening the case or tampering the sensors. Make sure it’s the right one by matching the dL code shown on the screen With the one printed on the sensor or the box. When you’ve confirmed that it’s the right sensor touch OK to continue. You’ll notice that the panel automatically detects what type of sensor you are trying to pair and pre fills out most of the common information for you, saving you time. If you choose to customize sensor information, simply touch on a box to make the adjustment. You can even type in custom names using the on-screen keyboard and the panel will speak these names using our Android text-to-speech technology built into every system. To make these fast and easy the only provide options that match the type of sensor you’re pairing. So you’ll never have to worry about scrolling through irrelevant sensor names and behaviors or accidentally pairing one device as another. You can also confirm that the S-Line Encrypted sensor technology is activated by looking at the signal source in the bottom right corner. Once you’re satisfied that the names, behaviors and other options are accurate touch Add New to complete the pairing process. You’ll also want to make sure the sensor has adequate range from the panel to the installed location so be sure to use the Advanced Sensor Test to see the actual signal strength relative to the noise floor of your environment. And it’s that easy! Just repeat this process with each sensor you plan to install
