In the Spotlight: Associated Time

Welcome to our latest In the Spotlight
video featuring Associated Time. Since 1953 Associated Time have worked to
become one of the most well established parking industry players in Dallas Texas. With many installations under their belt we wanted to find out a bit more about
their projects, what they bring to the parking industry, and what their future
plans may be. So Christopher can you tell us a little about Associated Time and
what you bring to the world of parking? We started out originally back in the
60s doing parking gates with time stamps, and obviously as technology evolved it
was our goal to bring the most advanced and the best technology to our
customers to be able to monitor, to be able to track, and keep keep care of
the revenue. And so, therefore, we’ve migrated into automated systems for
parking, and have been doing that since that time. We are a full-service company
in regards to we sell, we install, and we service the systems
that we help our customers design and implement. Along with that customer
experience and support, as you know, we do parking, we do access, and we do
time and attendance. And so in many of our solutions, in many of our situations
that we go to, we try to provide that one go-to source to
provide and to meet the needs of the customers. So in many cases we have a
customer that will use the same credential to get into the
facility for parking, use the same credential to get into the building for
access, and then actually use the same credential for punching in on their time
and attendance system. So again, the more that we can provide to the customers
from a customer support and customer experience
standpoint, we found has been, you know, really what our customers are looking
for, and wanting, and are expecting in today’s day and age. So you work as a
distributor for various respective parking solutions providers, can you tell
us a little bit more about this process? Yes, so obviously, from our perspective we have never been completely locked into one one organization, however, we are
constantly out there and trying to seek out what is the best solutions for our
customers, and provide the most technology and the most sophistication,
and really help them achieve what they’re looking to achieve, whether that
be revenue control, whether it be access control, monthly parkers, transient
parkers, and what systems are going to best fit their needs. About two years
ago now we did an extensive search out there of what we really wanted to see
ourselves doing going forward and that’s that’s how we became the TIBA
representative for Texas and our area here. We believed that that they were the
best technology company for us to partner with, not just now, but also into
the future, with the vision that they have for the parking industry and to
be able to provide solutions for us and our customers. in addition to that we
also are constantly out there seeking other means of technology and
solutions for our customers, whether that be parking guidance, whether that be, you
know, even from a higher security standpoint, the SecuScan product,
that’s based in in Germany, that we are now representing here in the US, as well
as many of the access control and other solutions that we provide.
It’s interesting that you are able to provide a range of solutions. What’s been
your biggest project to date? We’ve done several major projects. We
were involved with Houston Airport which is probably our largest single project
that we did years ago. More recently I would say our larger
projects have been the Austin Airport. We did the parking guidance at Austin
Airport, and we partnered there with Park Assist. We also have partnered
with TIBA at Houston First which is the George R Brown Convention Center
in Houston, as well as the garage that services the Houston Rockets, the Toyota
Tundra garage. And we’re in the process of also providing that same
solution for the Theater District which is all part of Houston First, which will
end up being close to about a hundred lanes when everything is said and
done of TIBA revenue equipment and access as well. But it also handles the
event parking and and several other types of parker validations, and so
it’s a quite complex system. And what plans do you have for the future? Our
plans for the future are to continue to expand our presence in our local
markets, as well as continue to seek out and provide whatever solutions that we
feel from a technology standpoint, whether that be Bluetooth solutions,
whether that be parking guidance solutions, whether that be the
security SecuScan type solutions, and really continue to give our
customers what they’ve come to expect from Associated Time, that we are the
one-stop-shop that can provide the best products, the best service, and the best
ongoing support. Thanks very much Christopher, it’s been
great learning more about the history of Associated Time, and we look forward to
seeing what new partnerships may develop in the near future. Don’t forget you can
