(Eng Sub) CNT Women’s Team Ready for 2018 WTTC — CCTV 5


The Huangshi Stadium is like a pearl by the pool side. The women’s team warm-up match was held there. The Chinese team sends Ding Ning, Zhu Yuling, Liu Shiwen, Chen Meng and Wang Manyu to compete at the 2018 WTTC. The women’s team has won 20 team champion in the past World Championships. The team had a 1-month closed-door training to prepare for the Championships. Some players competed at the German Open and Asian Cup during the closed-door training. The 5 players have made some improvements at the end of the training. We can see the outcomes of the training from the exciting rallies played between Ding Ning and Chen Meng. Ding Ning has competed at 5 World Tea Championships since 2010. She will lead the other players to defend the title. It has been awhile for not having such systematic training. I have been recovering my condition in the training. Everything is normal. Li Sun is very focus on each player’s performance. It is also the 5th World Team Championships for Liu Shiwen. The national team coaches specially arranged Liu Shiwen to play against Zhu Yuling in the warm-up match. The speed of the rallies is mind-blowing. This is the coach’s plan to arrange a battle between the 2 strong players. Match between the competitive players is one of the “80 how to deal with it” problems. I have been training here for 30 days, from the moment I wake up to bed. Sometimes I get tired of the training. I was a bit slow entering into the game. I made adjustments in the match. I will adjust my condition as there are more competitions coming up. The reason for arranging the match between top players is that we need to prepare our athletes with the mental toughness. So that they can overcome the hardship at the toughest moment. I believe our athletes need to work on that more often. It seems that winning a champion contradicts to training young athletes. While the team manage to put these 2 issues together. The team has listed 80 topics of ‘how to deal with it’ to prepare for the Championships. The team is ready for any challenges.
