Be aware, Be prepared, Protect Critical Water Infrastructure

Everyone needs water. Your drinking water is provided by public water systems across the U.S. And wastewater systems provide sanitation services for our nation. We work hard to keep water moving 24 hours a day, every day of the year. But, you should know that our infrastructure is degrading rapidly. Old pipes are more likely to break,
stopping water service. Natural disasters – like floods, droughts, earthquakes,
or tornadoes can also damage water systems. Without water, I can’t fight fires. Without water, I can’t care for you. Without water, I can’t serve you food. Without wastewater treatment,
we are more likely to get diseases. We can help make our critical
infrastructure stronger. Be Aware: get to know
your water and wastewater utility Be Prepared: store water for your
household to use during an emergency. Take action today,
for a better tomorrow. www.epa.gov/waterresilience
